EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy and medium-duty all-electric vehicles, including lower-floor and high-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate many different upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's clean sheet design allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and a lower center of gravity resulting in better payload to range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 have a single interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. green power folding mobility scooter have a longer lifespan. GreenPower joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to easily move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging of 75 kW.
We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does an excellent job of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration is extremely fast and the car has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.
The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged in just three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes the cruise control and torque while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both modes are enjoyable to drive, and offer an experience unlike any other for those who have never experienced driving an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus or a paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be Altoona-tested and FMVSS-certified. Buy America compliant and ADA compliant.
